Estimating tool, not a guarantee

Q².iT is a contractor estimating and business-management tool. Material quantities, labour hours, project costs, taxes, margins, profits, supplier prices, takeoffs and other outputs generated by Q².iT are estimates based on the information, assumptions, settings and pricing available to the service.

Q².iT does not guarantee that an estimate, takeoff, quote, price, margin or projected profit will match the final cost or outcome of a project.

Contractor verification is required

Before issuing a customer quote, ordering materials, committing to a price or beginning work, you are responsible for reviewing and verifying all project information, including:

• Measurements, dimensions, site conditions and scope.
• Material quantities, waste factors and product suitability.
• Supplier pricing, inventory, taxes, delivery charges, promotions and availability.
• Labour requirements, crew productivity, subcontractor costs and equipment costs.
• Taxes, permits, inspections, code requirements and other jurisdiction-specific obligations.
• Final selling price, markup, margin and customer contract terms.

Material and live-pricing information

Material prices, supplier comparisons, localized pricing and live-pricing information are provided for estimating convenience only. Supplier information can change without notice and may differ by store, region, account, delivery method or time of purchase.

You should confirm current pricing, availability and product specifications directly with the supplier before purchasing materials or relying on that information in a customer contract.

Project and professional responsibility

Q².iT does not inspect project sites and does not provide engineering, architectural, structural, legal, accounting, tax, building-code or trade-professional advice.

The contractor remains responsible for the work performed, project safety, compliance, workmanship, customer commitments and all business decisions made using information produced by Q².iT.

Customer-facing documents

Quotes, estimates, change orders, invoices and receipts created through Q².iT are tools used by the contractor. Q².iT is not a party to the agreement between the contractor and the contractor's customer.

The contractor is responsible for reviewing all customer-facing documents before they are issued and for ensuring that their terms, pricing, taxes and scope accurately reflect the intended agreement.

Use of estimates

By using Q².iT estimating, pricing or profitability features, you acknowledge that the outputs are decision-support tools and that final responsibility for verification and use remains with you.
